Two people in love with each other, and ice cream. In fact, I’m pretty sure we talked about opening an ice cream shop in our wedding vows. Sundae Funday was truly born as a solution to our own ice cream habits. We love the stuff SO much, but would easily get “flavor fatigue.” After stumbling across the concept of blending made-to-order soft serve, we had a light bulb moment. What’s better than getting to create a new flavor any time you want, especially ones with nostalgic mix-ins like cereals and treats that you grew up on?
Sundae Funday officially came to life in an old short bus that was converted into a scoop station. We bought the turquoise blue school bus sight-unseen from North Carolina (don’t do that) in 2019, hand painted her matte black, and in our driveway she sat as a pandemic hit our world.
Finally, SF rolled out in summer of 2021 at a gas station parking lot. When word took off and we saw how much guests loved the idea, we decided to park our wheels for a more permanent space. Enter: Sundae Funday, Oxford.
